Is it me or have some of my favorite authors stopped posting regularly on their blogs? Most mornings before I write, I scroll through my Favorites list and check in on my favorite blogs. One of the reasons I read these blogs so often is because they update regularly. But not lately. Some of my favorite blogs haven’t posted anything in awhile.
Are They Too Busy To Post?
Of course they are. We all have things going on in our lives that might prevent us from posting regularly. Work demands, deadlines, illness, vacation…The list goes on and on. But at least give us a reason why you haven’t posted. Or if you know you’re going on vacation, schedule a couple of posts so we know what’s going on. Don’t leave us hanging!
Are They Having a Hard Time Finding Balance?
Of course they are. I don’t do any other social media besides my blog. But many others have a Facebook page and Twitter accounts. Keeping everything going can be a juggling act and something is bound to fall. But it makes me wonder, “Why work so hard to develop a loyal readership and then let them down by not posting regularly?” And I’m not talking everyday—I would be happy for once a week!
Do I Need To Stop Whining and Wait On These Authors To Start Posting Soon?
Of course I do. This post is written in love. All I’m saying to those authors who have gotten in the habit of not posting regularly is—I miss you. And I’ll be here when you get back.
