So on this post I mentioned that my word count was zero. Nada. Zilch. And now my friends my word count is…drumroll please…20,292 words! I am stocked, excited, downright giddy at the progress I’ve made in a month’s time. Actually, less than a month’s time, because I’ve been sick for two weeks, and didn’t get [...] I think every writer goes through a period where they just aren’t happy writing. When writing down the words can be likened to a Korean torture chamber. I’ve been having those days more often than I would like and I have to ask myself why? Why isn’t writing as fun as it used to be? [...] Okay, so as far as my revisions they are going quite well. I’m really happy with them. As you guys know, my first two books were published at a smaller publishing house. The book I’m working on now is the book that I hope gets attention from a bigger publisher. But last night I started [...] Aahhh, the dreaded question. A friend or family member is making small talk and asks the question that most writers (or is it just me?) hates. “So, how’s the book going?” “Um…well…it’s going…” “Is it going to be better than the last book?” “That’s the plan.” “When are you going to be finished?” With [...] Whoops! Tomorrow turned into a week didn’t it? Sorry about that, sometimes life just gets in the way. On my last post I mentioned that I would have to re-write the first 100 pages of my WIP. Well, I have good news. Things aren’t as bad as I previously stated. Yes, my novel needs work, [...] I’m almost there guys. I’m about 100 pages away from finishing this novel. Let me rephrase that…I’m 100 pages away from finishing my second draft of this novel. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry, but I feel like crying. Let me explain. Imagine you’re running a marathon. You hear the whistle [...] If you follow me on Facebook, (And why not? I’m wicked funny), then you know that I finally typed THE END to the novel I’m working on. I bet if I my desk was made of Butterfinger’s, I would be sitting there all [...] 47,819 words. I know. I know that number hasn’t changed since my last post. Things are getting…rough. That word that I hate is starting to creep up my spine, telling me that I can’t finish, that I won’t finish, that I shouldn’t finish. Doubt. I am beginning to doubt myself… I’m losing it. I [...] |

When I’m not writing, I’m watching How’s It Made with my Hubby (and pretending I’m not interested in learning how a tennis racket is built), or I’m reading to my daughter.
