I absolutely adored The Weird Sisters and was lucky enough to meet Eleanor in St. Louis last March. She signed my pink Kobo eReader case! She is a delightful person, and I truly hope the novel does just as well (or better) in paperback as it did in hardcover. I have recommended it to tons of people.

Came across your post when looking for information on embroidery but thought I would say that it is not easy to actually have more than 1 hobby for the simply reason, they require so much time.

Yes, I have more than one hobby but I pick only one at a time to devout myself to. I love the variety in hobbies. I will never get bored or worried about what next. My hobbies are like my girlfirends, they all bring something different to the table. There are times that one friend gets more of my time than the others but in the end it evens out. Like flowers in a garden I love a variety.

@Nina Dee I think this would work for reading the Bible, or cleaning. Like how fast can I clean this room in thirty minutes? Could treat cleaning like a game!
@MrsTDJ I’m the same way, I like to check Facebook, my email, Twitter, and then I save writing for last, and some days don’t do it all because of all the time I’ve wasted on other things. The timer helps me stay focused on writing.

This is a great idea. I get frustrated on days when I don’t get anything written. And often, when I finally get in front of the computer, I check email, log into facebook, search for something on ebay, etc. Focusing on just writing before the buzzer sounds will ensure at least 30 minutes of progress. I’ll be trying this tonight.
