I love his hair short! He’s been wearing his hair in this shaggy shoulder-length style on the right for over a year, but had to cut his hair for a new movie role. I think he looks younger with his hair short, but if you looked at the picture below you might not agree with me…

I personally think this is just a bad shot of him. I still like him with the shorter hair. Moving on now to NFL quarterback Tom Brady. We know he’s been rocking longer locks for about a year now, because his gorgeous supermodel wife won’t let him cut his hair. But now, he’s cut his legendary long hair.

I know, I know, you can’t see much under his hat, but you can definitely see that he cut his hair. This haircut is MUCH improved, did you guys remember his hair before? Big yikes…

And last, but certainly not least, someone has decided not to cut their hair, but this celeb has actually decided to grow more hair. Do you guys remember Jason Alexander, from my fav show Seinfeld? Well those of you that watch the show know that Jason Alexander is…well, bald. And now he’s not.

Pretty Unbeweaveable right? (I had to get that in there! If you haven’t picked up my book yet, buy it now! Okay shameless plug over…)

I can’t believe he had the guts to do this. Jason played George Costanza for years, and George is known for being short, stocky and bald. Granted, George was just a character on Seinfeld, but Jason has always pretty much had a thinning hairline. He was in his 30’s in the picture on the right, wouldn’t it make more sense to get hair when you’re younger, instead of waiting until you’re in your 50’s?

Maybe being bald has always bothered him, but I miss the old <strike>George</strike> Jason. I like him bald.

If you guys haven’t watched Seinfeld before, check out the funny clip below of George wearing a toupee. I die laughing every time I see this!

Aaack! How dare I let a week pass without blogging! What was I doing, you ask? I have been a bit under the weather, and recovering from a mild sickle-cell crisis. So I’ve been resting up and getting my energy back. I had a real busy weekend and spent most of yesterday in the bed—with a great book by Emily Giffin—and now here I am ready to discuss something that’s been bothering me for a long time…

I can’t dance.

There.

I said it, it’s out there in the cloud, floating around that I, Katrina Spencer, have no rhythm. I blame this on genetics of course, considering my father can’t dance either. (Sorry Pop. But you glided on your feet at my wedding.) All the rest of my siblings have rhythm, and even if they don’t, they have the uncanny ability to fake it. My mother is wonderful on the dance floor, dancing to her is akin to eating or drinking—it just comes natural. I on the other hand, look like a female version of Bill Cosby, all knees and elbows, jerks and twists that resemble a seizure more than dancing.

For some strange reason I can dance sitting down. I know, I know, this makes absolutely no sense, but it’s true. Sitting down I have the ability to sway my arms to the beat—to look like someone who’s having the time of their life, but has to sit down to rest her tired feet. This illusion tricks people and my girlfriends constantly forget my lack of dancing skills as they jump up and squeal when it’s time to do the Harlem Shuffle, and drag me onto the dance floor, only to shake their heads minutes later as I step on their feet and bump small children onto the hard dance floor.

Look at me in this picture.

I’m at a formal event of about 200 or so people. The dance floor is crowded and I’m doing a very bad Harlem Shuffle. You can see my lips set in a firm White-Man Overbite, my arms flailing as I try to keep up to the beat.

Do you guys remember Elaine from Seinfeld? How she ruined a party by her horrible dancing?

Okay, mine isn’t quite that bad, but you get the picture. Definitely not good.

But there’s hope for a girl like me. The thing with dancing is that you do it or you don’t. There is no in-between. So if you do decide to get out there and shake your tail feather remember to always find the center of the dance floor and stay there. You see, there are two people in this world, the dancers and the onlookers. If you stay on the inside of the dancing floor, you are blocked by your dancing companions and the onlookers can’t laugh at you. And trust me, the onlookers are laughing. Their laughing their heads off if you’re dancing poorly, because what else are they gonna do? Your lack of dancing ability is entertainment, my friend, so if you lack rhythm, (but love to dance just like poor Elaine) then stay in the middle.

But the best tip of all? Do what I did and marry someone who hates to dance. The hubby dreads getting on the dance floor. Sure we slow dance—but only if forced. We instead like to sit at our seats and pretend that we are resting our feet—just like the rest of the onlookers.

Comparing an episode of Seinfeld to writing my book. [...]

Those of you who are fans of Seinfeld probably remember the episode called, The Opposite. It’s the only episode where George Costanza sees his life change for the best. (Here’s a funny clip.) Meanwhile, Elaine Benes, loses her job, so she sees her life change for the worst. But Jerry remains the same. He jokes about how everything balances out for him–he remains Even-Stevens.

Elaine tests Jerry’s theory by asking him for twenty bucks. He gives it to her and she’s throws it out the window.

“Now let’s see if you get your twenty bucks back.” As they leave his apartment he puts his jacket on and finds twenty bucks in his pocket.

I’m Jerry. Or rather my book is Jerry. Everytime I add a scene to my book, I remove a scene that isn’t working. So while I’m trying to increase my word count, I remain around the same number. Even-Stevens.

My family will ask me how my book is going.

“Okay I guess. I’m at 74,000 words.”

“Weren’t you at 74,000 words yesterday?”

“Yes, but today it’s a different 74,000 words.”

“Okay…”

They obviously don’t get it. Do you?
