Okay, so it has been forecast that it will snow tomorrow. In Houston. This will be the third year of my ENTIRE life that I’ve seen real snow. You may remember last year’s post and excitement about the snow on the ground. I was so excited I posted pictures of what my back yard looked like. (This year we’ve covered all of our plants with sheets. It looks tacky, but I have beautiful roses in the front yard and I don’t want them dying. Our crazy dog must think they’re ghosts, she keeps running outside and barking at the sheets like they’re trying to invade our house.)

So again this year the weatherman is predicting snow. I had the hubby stocking up our pantry and refrigerator like we were expecting a full on blizzard. My daughter has been sick the last couple of days, so I don’t expect her to be outside much, but I am excited to see snow on the ground. Again. Alas, this year I doubt that I will be able to post pictures, since my daughter hid our camera and can’t remember where it is. I’ve torn this house up looking for it, but to no avail. (And the camera on my Blackberry just isn’t up to par. Another reason I’m switching to an Android…)

The only bad thing about the snow is that it killed my beautiful begonias in my front yard. But other than that, the snow was worth it. It created wonderful memories for my daughter and I, and now she knows what I’m talking about when I say the word snow. I guess we got a small glimpse of what the weather is like for people up north.

I live in Houston people. Land of the dinosaur [...]]]> I feel like a schoolgirl. It’s snowing in Houston! And I mean real snow, not the kind that melts when it hits the ground. You can actually see snow on the ground.

I know some of you are wondering, “What’s the big deal? It’s just snow.”

I live in Houston people. Land of the dinosaur mosquito and squelching hot sun. Land of shorts and tank tops in December. Land of the popsicle in January. Houston doesn’t have four seasons. We have two seasons—hot, and not so hot.

So seeing snow on the ground is nothing short of a miracle. My neighborhood is full of grown people outside like kids taking pictures and running around in the snow. I’m hoping to make snowballs in the evening and having a snowball fight. Can you imagine? 

I’ve been taking pictures of it, and I’ll post them tomorrow. Who knows I might even post a video with my technological self.
