Most of a writer’s job is learning how to wait. Writing the book—at least for me—is the easy part. It’s the constant waiting, that’s hard. (And the marketing and publicity too, but we’ll tackle that another day…) We have to wait until we hear if our book is sold, we have to wait until the [...] I think every writer goes through a period where they just aren’t happy writing. When writing down the words can be likened to a Korean torture chamber. I’ve been having those days more often than I would like and I have to ask myself why? Why isn’t writing as fun as it used to be? [...] Okay, I know I’ve been absent for a few days. The daughter has been sick with a bad stomach virus that I’m praying that I don’t catch. She’s on the mend so I’m back on the blog. And what news to share! The wonderful Sarah Pekkanen will be stopping by the blog on Monday! I love the prologue but after that, I want [...] Welcome 2011! So hmm, what’s new? Well, I am feeling very encouraged with my book. I’m happy to say I’m back on track. After getting tons of research material and interviewing an expert, (more on that later this week) I feel that I’m shaping this novel into something—dare I say it?—great. There. It’s out there. I read several blogs, and most bloggers don’t blog on the weekend, (although some do, bravo to you!) so most expect a new post when Monday roles around. I know I’ve been slipping. I’m a Women’s Fiction writer with two novels under my belt, Six O’clock and Unbeweaveable. Curl Up and Write is where I fuse my two loves: hair and writing. You’d be surprised at the similarities! When I’m not writing, I’m watching How’s It Made with my Hubby (and pretending I’m not interested in learning how a tennis racket is built), or I’m reading to my daughter. I also dabble in gardening, love to cook, and watch way too much HGTV.  |
